The name represents our individuality. The uniqueness of its function looks peremptory: it is difficult if not impossible figuring ourselves in the social context separated from the name which identifies us. Sometimes, however, a name hides surprising meanings completely unrelated to the person and his identity. There is an anagram that provides  a special meaning to  my name and surname: Massimo Cartaginese becomes C/o: Mars' tin seas image. This peculiar anagram does not evoke a fantastic landscape but, very properly, its representation: the image of tin seas on Mars.
Jorge Luis Borges wrote: "A man sets himself the task of designing the world. Through the years he populates a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, islands, fish, houses, of instruments, of stars, horses, of people. Shortly before his death he discovers that that patient labyrinth of lines is the image of his face. "
Among the disciplines involved in the study of landscape, the humanistic geography favors the conceptual category of identity. The relationship between the individual and the world occurs in qualitative terms, it is a relationship between natural phenomena and life, therefore the Terrae Incognitae not yet explored are only the territories of subjectivity. Landscapes expand to infinite possibilities no longer corresponding with the material territory. Every landscape becomes mainly a cultural product, the result of the inhabitants' perception which transforms the landscape into a language through its representation.Depicting myself as a territory. Within the lines tangles generated by the repetition of my profile I find my identity's mapping: maps that not strengthen my somatic feature but, on the contrary, they establish my features' loss and their metamorphosis into ambiguous and unexpected representations midway between somatic and geo-graphic, between the individual and the world.
