Geopuzzle is a public art action commissioned to Voyagerlab (Massimo Cartaginese_Silvia Paoletti) by the Department of Environment of the Province of Ancona.
The project's distinct phases took place over a three years cycle, in relation to subsequent  environmental  initiatives undertaken by the Administration.
Geopuzzle's topic is the survey on the relationships between art and environment.
We tried, by art means, to highlight the loss of original "coherence and unity" of the river valley due to plastic wastes and pollution. Our first workshops was held with middle-school students. By their help, we created a 7 meters long map showing the altered river course, the metaphor of deep modifications due to pollution, PET and PVC.
The next stage tried reaching out as many people as possible. We printed the altered river's image (a sort of logo, indeed) on thousands ordinary trash bags, declaring them art multiples. In order to gain people feedback about geopuzzle, we designed and printed a questionnaire to be filled out and send us back.
Trash bags and questionnaires were distrubited as attached to the free-press magazine Artefatti, on Marche's region culture.
We tried to inspire ironic and critical thoughts about environmental pollution paradoxically, producing 7000 PVC trash bags, avoiding pedagogical meanings without claiming to point out the right way,
